About Us

First aid, made accessible.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to make lifesaving skills reachable for every community, not just the ones that can afford the equipment.

The Problem

Communities want to learn. Cost gets in the way.

We founded Sidewalk Medic after seeing how decentralized the nonprofit space is when it comes to first aid education. There are many organizations, but they stay regional and duplicate one another, especially when acquiring the mannequins and simulation technology that remain the limiting factor.

The biggest reason growth stalls is simply the cost of the equipment. Bring that cost down, and everything else opens up.

What We Do

Three ways we close the gap

Every part of Sidewalk Medic points at the same goal: driving the cost of quality first aid training toward zero.

01

Community Training

Our university chapters go into their local communities to train low income and underserved neighborhoods in CPR, hemorrhage control, and burn response.

  • Hands only CPR
  • Stop the Bleed
  • Burn and trauma basics
02

Research

We study population and systems health to understand the logistical and organizational demands that impact EMS access, with work presented at NCEMSF and a manuscript in review at the Journal of Collegiate EMS.

  • National EMS datasets
  • Peer reviewed venues
  • Actionable benchmarks
03

Product Development

We build apps and physical products that raise the fidelity of training while cutting the price, so no program has to choose between quality and affordability.

  • Higher fidelity than foam
  • Live feedback
  • Built to scale
